Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his family and volunteering in the community. One of the first things he did is to help the Selmon familial. Lucious Selmon was the father of Jessie Selmon. They raised nine children in a Eufala farm. The Selmons were also among the three siblings who represented Oklahoma on the field of football. All three became All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey was a starter for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was the top lineman for the entire nation. Lee Roy won two championships, and 31-1-1 during his three years as Oklahoma's main man. Selmon was given a second scholarship in 1975, and was designated an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon received a degree in education. Fourth service In the college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. After graduation, he moved in Tampa and played nine years for Tampa's Buccaneers. He made the All-Pro 3 times. He then began his professional career. He was an Account Representative for Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked in these organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as a member of the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of Ten of America's top young men. While a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighs a little over 256 lbs. He was captain of his college team in the year 1975. In 1993, he was a part of his current position at University of South Florida as associate director of athletics. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave its Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma made the presentation.
