Taylor
Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop phenomena one who was able to fully transition from the traditional to making her an iconic popular icon, and sweeping the globe in the process. Swift has thrown off her country roots like she was shedding skins for second purposes, showing herself to be one of the best pop singers and songwriters in her generation. She has the ability to harness the current zeitgeist and turn it into her unique. Her talents could be seen in her first tracks, including the neodue Tim McGraw. But on her second album Fearless which came out in 2008, Swift was able to discover her true identity and gain a wide audience. The album ended up with a lot of appeal not just on the U.S. where it racked seven platinum singles on the strength of the Top Ten hits Love Story and the hit single You Belong with Me but throughout the world, with a particular success in Canada, the U.K. Canada and Australia. The Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago consolidated her previous success, and catapulted the singer into superstardom. The singer's popularity increased through her three subsequent albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift became a household name within a genre where she belonged. As she cut her style to the stripped-down versions of 2020, folklore and Evermore however, she remained in the top spot. The position was defended through re-recordings of her previous catalog as well as Midnights, her synth-heavy chart-topping 2022 album.
