Lucy Liu is an American actor, voice actress, director producer, and vocalist. She's attractive and skilled actress that has inspired numerous Asian actors to achieve success in Hollywood. Following a string of early appearances in some popular series she gained fame by joining the team of the legal comedy show Ally McBeal where she played the malicious Ling Woo. The actress translated her sudden popularity into big screen roles in films like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. Her performance was outstanding as Japanese gangster O-Ren Ishii (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. Around this same time, she also starred in box-office flops like Rise: Blood Hunter. Following that, she began to sing prominent characters for animation films, such as Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's role in Cashmere Mafia, a small screen movie, did not bring about the positive results. Southland - a critically acclaimed crime drama that established Liu as an actress of the future.
