Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an writer, journalist, TV host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. She emigrated from Greece to England at the age of 16 and received an MA at Cambridge University in Economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it when she was 21. A conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she was able to be a voice of the Huffington Post. Her celebrity status helped her by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to publish their thoughts about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna became famous in 2003 when she ran as an independent candidate in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. She also headed a Detroit automobile project that was fuel efficient. Forbes identified her the most powerful female in the media industry in the year 2009. The newspaper was ranked as at 12th place on their ranking. The Guardian added her to the top 100 list of media outlets in the year 2009. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media company, which also included a number of existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and management consultant Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. They were very close to her father. But it was her bond with her mother that has shaped her. As a child, she showed leadership traits that she still is known for. When she was 16years old, she emigrated from America to United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. As a student, she joined the Cambridge Union, a college debating club. The third female president, and also the first foreigner she held the position of head for the Cambridge Union. In 1972 she received an education in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a critic for a newspaper column and a television host. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
