Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She founded The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is an author, philanthropist, television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Following her move to England from Greece at 16, she received a MA with Economics from Cambridge University. In her 21st year, she was head of the famous debate society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student who was elected to this position. When she graduated, she made her name as columnist in the conservative syndicated media and, with the launching of The Huffington Post' few years later she created a voice-based website that offered critical observations regarding the state of affairs. Her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna was famous after she was elected as an independent candidate in the California recall elections in order to replace Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna also spearheaded the Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient automobiles. Forbes listed her 12th in their list of the Top Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their top 100 list in 2010. In 2011 AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made the president of that media company, which also included a number of then-existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli the other, both of whom are journalists and consultants in management. While she was very close with her father, it was her bond with her mother which shaped her life. Even as a young girl she displayed leadership qualities that she's still known for. At the age of 16years old, she emigrated from America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. In college, she was a member of the Cambridge Union, a college debating club. As the third woman president and first foreigner, she held the position of head for the Cambridge Union. In 1972 she received a degree in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic and an anchor on TV. Additionally, she starred with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
